Philosophy is perfectly right in saying that life must be understood backward. But then one forgets the other clause – that it must be lived forward.- Soren Kierkegaard
We do the opposite. We look forward and live backwards. We are so caught up in 1960s nostalgia that we no longer live our lives in the present.
I don’t blame it completely on the people, after all we’re just given our orders. The package is made to be consumable for the masses and so it is easily digested.
“Your telling me that if I do what you say, I’m no longer responsible for my life decisions? Where do I sign up?”
“All I have to do get forward in life is vote for a Democrat who will then use that power to even the playing field? Hell Yes!”
“Wait, my decisions have no negative consequences that can’t be passed on to the larger society? Wow, this whole time I thought chastity and frugalness was a virtue! What a fool I’ve been!”
The appeal of slavery comes from weight lifted from responsibility. If who we are can never be determined, than we are free from trying.
We are all content to listen to the advice of Tony Robbins when we look at our mental health, but why don’t we apply the lessons to our society? Why is our mental health our responsibility, but we should be equally responsible for our financial and physical health.
The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. If you do that, you’re in control of your life. If you don’t, life controls you. –Tony Robbins
We’ve been sold a lie by the very people that have a stake in keeping us locked in the past. As long as independence is not a possibility, nobody will fight for it. Human beings are remarkably capable of adjusting to any condition, we even tell ourselves that we’re happy as we do it. It is always later when the cloud is lifted that we even realize how dire the situation ever was.
I know so many bitter people, angrily shouting about the state of the world, naively begging for socialism or the complete overthrow of the American system. Yet when I press them about what it really means to care, they say they don’t. They say they used to care but they have given up.
But then why are you so angry? Anger is just the outlet of hopelessness. And that hopelessness is just a product of being lied to.
Anger makes us feel good, we don’t feel sad while we’re angry. We don’t have to do any self reflection while we’re angry. It gives us the energy that can push us into destructive action.
While liberals march, black American’s are struggling to hold on to any kind of identity outside the hip-hop savages that music titans are so pressed to promote.
The divide and conquer strategy is working as it was always meant to. With black American’s struggling to go to college, a Cornell black student group tries to impose ridiculous rules such as no Africans or Caribbean students. A message contradicting their overall theme of diversity and inclusiveness.
What have we done?
What is to become of black people if we don’t pause and ask ourselves what we want for our futures? We our place in America for granted. A space we’re guaranteed to always occupy, even as the ranks of immigrants swell and outpace African Americans. While we lambast our history of slavery, our future is getting away from us.
Every other word on Twitter is about being “woke,” yet we act like slave catchers determined to stop anybody from leaving the plantation. We refuse to open our eyes and see that we are being used.
We’re like the prisoners protesting against the prison guards while the Warden is our biggest benefactor. We blindly follow this Warden’s decries, while simultaneously ignoring the fact that both the prison guards and the prisoners have the same boss.
Tell me how it is institutional racism, yet we rail against the police? If that’s a fact, why aren’t we throwing out the politicians that make the institutions? I still see Rahm Emmanual as the Mayor in Chicago. When we have corrupt politicians that make corrupt laws it results in corrupt cops.
When the media is too afraid to touch you, it usually means you’re a part of the bad guys..
Even if you graduate to a house slave you are still a slave. And don’t get it twisted, these politicians would love nothing more than to replace black parents with the State, family doctors with State doctors, and black families with prison families.
You see, while we rail against “white supremacy,” we don’t even recognize that our supposed allies are nothing more than progressive Social Darwinist. You’re correct when you say that an attitude of white supremacy exists, you have just chosen the wrong people to support.
While we’ve been campaigning for women’s rights and abortions, they’ve used abortion as a form of population control.
While we were fighting for minimum wage laws, they’ve torn down black family structures. In fact, when we demand the end of the War on Drugs they’ve been pumping drugs in the black communities. They tax us and don’t spend the money on our infrastructure or our education. No they spend that money to make their friends wealthy through school administrations and fat construction contractors.
Ever notice how construction never gets done despite there always being construction? Ever notice the large school budgets with no corresponding increase in the quality of education?
Thomas Sowell has always railed against the popular narrative of our time:
The “legacy of slavery” argument is not just an excuse for inexcusable behavior in the ghettos. In a larger sense, it is an evasion of responsibility for the disastrous consequences of the prevailing social vision of our times, and the political policies based on that vision, over the past half century. Anyone who is serious about evidence need only compare black communities as they evolved in the first 100 years after slavery with black communities as they evolved in the first 50 years after the explosive growth of the welfare state, beginning in the 1960s. You would be hard-pressed to find as many ghetto riots prior to the 1960s as we have seen just in the past year, much less in the 50 years since a wave of such riots swept across the country in 1965.
We are told that such riots are a result of black poverty and white racism. But in fact–for those who still have some respect for facts–black poverty was far worse, and white racism was far worse, prior to 1960. But violent crime within black ghettos was far less.
Black children are still struggling to graduate
In a 2012-2013 report by the Schott Foundation titled “Black Lives Matter: The Schott 50 State Report on Public Education and Black Males” it was reported that only 59 percent of black males graduate from high school compared to 65 percent for Latinos and 80 percent for whites. In Detroit, a city governed by black leadership for decades, only 20 percent of black males graduate from high school.
The black people that are finding the most success, are the African immigrants that come here with the conservative values of a large agrarian society.
African immigrants who arrive to the United States to bolster their education are the top academic achievers among non-natives. In an older study conducted using U.S. Census data, it was reported that 48.9 percent of African immigrants hold a college diploma.
According to a study produced by Princeton and the University of Pennsylvania, immigrants, who make up 13 percent of the nation’s college-age black population, account for more than a quarter of black students at Ivy League and other select universities.
In fact, “census data show that the children of these immigrants were more likely to be college-educated than any other immigrant or U.S.-born ethnic group, including white Americans,” a September 2012 Washington Post story states.
A report on African Immigrants and Educational Attainment reveals the numbers in clear fashion:
African immigrants to the U.S. are among the most educated groups in the United States. Some 48.9 percent of all African immigrants hold a college diploma. This is more than double the rate of native-born white Americans, and nearly four times the rate of native-born African Americans. According to the 2000 Census, the rate of college diploma acquisition is highest among Egyptian Americans at 59.7 percent, followed closely by Nigerian Americans at 58.6 percent.
In 1997, 19.4 percent of all adult African immigrants in the United States held a graduate degree, compared to 8.1 percent of adult white Americans and 3.8 percent of adult black Americans in the United States, respectively. According to the 2000 Census, the percentage of Africans with a graduate degree is highest among Nigerian Americans at 28.3 percent, followed by Egyptian Americans at 23.8 percent.
So it can’t simply be that there is a targeted smear against anyone with black skin. African’s come in with a culture that is conducive towards societal advancement.
Black Americans have lagged behind because we have bought into Social Darwinists belief of inherit black inferiority and dependancy.
If Martin Luther King Jr. wasn’t already dead, he would wish he was if he could see the state of the black community
If the 1950s were so terrible for black Americans, why are they remembered so fondly by our elders? We didn’t live in the violent ghettos of today’s America. We weren’t shown as gang bangers and thugs on TV. We had our family units.
Margaret Bush Wilson, former chairman of the NAACP, reported
“I grew up in a ghetto in Saint Louis, but it was a safe and clean ghetto, if you can imagine that. We had hardworking families living there. We had a doctor, a lawyer, a bricklayer and a drunk on the same street. But now those neighborhoods are gone. Hardworking parents are losing control of their children. The church and the family have deteriorated. There is blood in the street.”
Meanwhile we are advocating for scraps of meat off our master’s table. Those who claim to love diversity are not hiring black people, they’re content to let blacks rot in the their ghettos.
They pretend to love Black Lives Matter while they silently discuss between themselves how black American’s have done it to ourselves.
And we continue to listen to them. Democrats need black people to stay segregated from the rest of society so they can feed us different messages. They need us and they need our votes. Let’s stop feeding the progressives and watch them starve.
