It’s Always America First. Why the News is Wrong.

I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. ‘Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death. –Thomas Paine

When Donald Trump tells us that he’s going to Alabama to campaign for Luther Strange of all people, I admit it leaves me a bit confused.  It’s said when you look into Luther Strange’s eyes you can see the spirit of Mitch McConnell.  And while the rest of America is working to remove any vestige of Mr. McConnell from the Senate, President Trump is working to keep his spirit there.

We can only imagine what shenanigans are going on behind the scenes, but right now swamp-chic isn’t en vogue.  They people aren’t keen on supporting such an obvious swamp monster.

As a citizen I can sit here and vote my conscious, I can pull out my little Libertarian dictionary that tells me what to think on every issue and never feel one bit of remorse when things don’t work out.  Because “Hey, I voted my conscious! Reality? What’s that?  It worked in my head what more could you possibly want?”

There is a reason Thomas Jefferson omitted his Presidency from his tomb stone.  His pride was in his fight for freedom.  A man pure of principle yet the holder of an impure office.   He couldn’t reconcile what he believed in from what he had to do.

“… on the faces of the Obelisk the following inscription, & not a word more:

Here was buried
Thomas Jefferson
Author of the Declaration of American Independence
of the Statute of Virginia for religious freedom
& Father of the University of Virginia

“because by these,” he explained, “as testimonials that I have lived, I wish most to be remembered.”

He excluded all of the higher offices he held, including Governor of Virginia, Secretary of State, Vice President, and, of course, President.

In your personal life you sometimes face the impossible decision of choosing which loss you want to take.  Do I want to pay the water bill or put food in the fridge?  Now just imagine making that choice for hundred of millions of people.

It’s much easier to follow a purity test when you’re not governing them.  If your an academic.  Or when you’re in Congress representing the people . I love our founding fathers as much as the next girl, but I’m not even sure they could handle this mess that America has gotten itself into.  No, the mess our politicians have gotten us into.

Like it or not Trump is the leader of this movement

Eight years of the media lovin’ Obama machine have left us blind and dumb to our position in this world.  America didn’t become a mess on November 8th 2016, it has been a mess. If I didn’t know any better I would suspect that Obama looked at every situation and asked himself, “What could I possibly do to make this worse?”

Every time they strike at Trump, I triple down on my support.  Maybe it’s a character flaw, but I’ll be damned if I ever let anyone tell me who or what to believe in.  And I’ll be damned before I ever turn my back on one of mine.  Steve Bannon told me that, “When you side with a man, you side with him.” (coughBrietbartcough).

Between conservative news outlets screaming traitor and liberal outlets gleefully reporting that Trump is now a Democrat, we the people are left feeling demoralized.  It wouldn’t be the news if it wasn’t sensationalized, but I expected so much more from our right wing conservatives.  We finally gain a position to make actual change and we cannot even support the person fighting for America.

Don't you put that evil on me gif

If we lose Trump it will cut the legs off the of our movement.  Did the Civil Rights Movement keep moving when Martin Luther King Jr. died?  Movements need a leader for people to rally behind, and when they lose that leader you devastate the people.  People will not so willingly put hope in another person when it’s lost.

If we cannot get behind the man then we do not deserve him.  Washington D.C. is the hell-mouth of America filled with vampires, wendigos, and demons.  Meanwhile Trump is Buffy the Vampire Slayer doing whatever he can to save a place that just might not be worth saving.

Who hasn’t searched ‘media reaction to elect’ and watched each and every video a thousand times.  While Rachel Maddow hysterically prepared the world for Doomsday, conservatives everywhere were licking the salt off her eyes on our televisions.  America didn’t lose anything that night, we gained the only man that is capable of navigating us through these shallow treacherous waters.

I’ve never been one to excuse the actions of a President, in fact I couldn’t stand the people who discussed Obama like God was up his ass and so we must worship him.  “What do you mean Syria?  What is this scandal that you speak of, Obama ran the most transparent administration ever!”

But I’ve never experienced a President I’ve actually liked.  So this whole experience is rather new to me.  (Hope is that you?)

So while the rest of America can think we’re fools, that we’re blindly supporting a man when we should be fighting for a principle (isn’t America First a principle?).  Apparently this kind of loyalty is what lead to Hitler (which makes sense doesn’t it since Trump is literally hitler).

These people have no idea what loyalty is.  They have no idea what leadership is, and the price of loyalty.  Loyalty is how you keep people accountable. It is through love and loyalty that leaders are bonded to their people.  If you have a leader that treasures your loyalty they will never betray it.  Trump is that leader.

You just have to have faith!

So let’s talk about draining the swamp

The American people have been betrayed so many times by our elected leaders (see Obama) that we flinch like Ronda Rousey whenever a politician even breathes in the wrong direction.

After so many years of abuse w’re impatient for results.  We want change now and the President that doesn’t bring change now is in danger of losing all of his support.  It is a remarkable skill to keep public faith long enough to actually get something done.  Every time Donald Trump communicates directly with the people he does this.

The swamp will take years to drain.  It has to be done inch by inch, and Trump has to do this while the snakes swim between his feet biting at this heels while whispering seduction in his ears.

STEVE BANNON: The swamp is 50 years in the making…The swamp is a business model. It’s a successful business model. It’s a donor-consultant K Street lobbyist-politician– seven of the nine [wealthiest] counties in America ring Washington, D.C….The permanent political class, as represented by both parties. You’re not gonna drain that in eight months. You’re not gonna drain it in two terms. This is gonna take 10, 15, 20 years of relentlessly going after it.

How can we ever make it fighting 20 years if we can’t even make it fighting one. Relentlessly shamed for our support, ridiculed by Hollywood and the mainstream media, and we’re going to listen to them now?

They want to cast your loyalty as fanaticism, every virtue you have is warped into a vice, the choice is fall in line or fall into obscurity.  The only way the swamp can win if it tricks you into not fighting.  If we lose hope we lose the fight and they know this.

Dueling with Democrats

Trump had to dip his toes into the water at some point.  You have to look a man in his eyes when you negotiate. How else will he see the Democrat’s pressure points while simultaneously forcing Republicans to play ball.

Bill O’Reilly has part of the equation right.  He knows that Democrats will stop at nothing to sever Trump from his supporters.  It is the only way they can could either render him impotent or remove him.

The Schumer/Pelosi thing was by design and should learn a lesson from it. They are trying to erode base support for Trump. –Bill O’Reilly

While Trump sent a message to Ryan and McConnell, the Democratic leadership has attempted to sever Trump from his base.

“Did you hear that Trump is actually a Democrat?  I hear he promised to open a half-way house for immigrants in the White House.”

“Well I heard he offered to make Nancy first lady.”

“I can’t stand the man anyways, let’s burn our MAGA hats.”

How cute!  Since President Trump has the brain of a squirrel apparently, he just falls right into line with whoever is beside him!  That must be why he’s so easy to control.  We should really call it boys.

See everybody here knows the stakes on the table.  Amnesty is not about hatred.  If amnesty was consequence-less, why have we been having this same conversation since 1986? Amnesty is as futile as paying a gambling addicts debts.  It is always an exception that obliterates the rule.

Trump and top Democrats discussed a tentative agreement plausible solutions to the DACA dilemma.  Notice that it is a “tentative agreement” meaning there is no actual agreement.  Meaning that even if Schumer and Pelosi get a bill on the floor it would have to pass the House and the Senate. And then signed by the President?

Schumer and Nancy Pelosi insist that the deal endorses the much larger DREAM Act.  This same washed rinsed repeated Act that we’ve discussed for over ten years.

Please be honest and tell me you believe that Congress is even capable of doing that?  They couldn’t pass the DREAM act with Georgy Bush they couldn’t pass it with Barack Obama.

Further Trump made it clear that any discussion of DACA would exclude chain migration.  The alleged made up belief that once you let one immigrant in you have to take in their whole family.

CHAIN MIGRATION cannot be allowed to be part of any legislation on Immigration!- Donald Trump wrote on Twitter.

Business Insider defines the term as:

Chain migration is a term almost exclusively used by immigration hardliners when referring to the family-reunification-based component of the US immigration system, through which US citizens or lawful permanent residents may sponsor close family members to join them in the US.

Hmmm, sounds like it’s almost a fact that we’re not talking about the status for 800,000 Dreamer children, it sounds like that number can be multiplied ad infinitum.

There could be citizenship for at least 3 million illegals via the “Dream Act.” But those 3 million could bring another several million immigrants — and likely Democratic voters — via “chain migration” during the following ten years.

Trump stills supports the popular RAISE Act, which would end the “chain migration” rules.

House Speaker Paul Ryan has also spoken out against chain migration, and House chairman Rep. Lamar Smith has introduced a bill to end chain migration.
Trump is still America First, and anybody who immigrates here should be as well

To the surprise of absolutely no one anywhere Mexicans are not feeling to great about America right now.  Trump ending DACA, promising a border wall, and putting America First must have decreased their spirits.

Favorable views of the United States have sharply declined among Mexicans, reaching the lowest point in 15 years Of the 37 countries surveyed by Pew, Mexico had the largest drop in favor ability toward the United States.

When I hear something like that I think of the Meek Mill song Prices.

They say, “You got pay the cost to be a boss”
Check this
When you the [friend] with the money
Somebody go to jail, you gotta pay they bail
Somebody die, they gon’ turn to you for the funeral
But I just be thinking like, “When I’m gon’ be able gon’ able to turn to somebody, [crap]”
Bosses got feelings too
I done did [crap] for [friends] a thousand times
Told ’em no one time and watch ’em talk about me crazy, run and bite my back out
But I still stood tall

It’s important that they’re are no heroes.  That behind every President, every Civil Rights leader, favorite author, movie star, and priest is a Man who tries.  But just as everything Man touches, it fails.

Was Trump right to try to deal with the Democrats?  I don’t know.  Has he betrayed his base?  I know for a fact that he hasn’t.  Trump will always be America first.  Just like all of us should be.  People sleep on him to their disadvantage.  You’d think they learn.

It’s often to your advantage to be underestimated.- Donald Trump
